功能描述

辅助蛋白,作为电压门控钾(Kv)通道复合物的调节亚基发挥作用,该复合物由成孔和传导钾离子的alpha亚基及调节性beta亚基组成。KCNE1 beta亚基调节门控动力学并增强通道复合物的稳定性(PubMed:19219384, PubMed:20533308, PubMed:9230439)。改变含有KCNB1 alpha亚基的延迟整流Kv通道的门控(PubMed:19219384)。与KCNQ1/KVLQT1 alpha亚基结合形成缓慢激活的延迟整流心脏钾(IKs)通道,负责心室肌动作电位复极化(PubMed:20533308)。外向电流仅在50秒后达到稳态(Probable)。与KCNH2/HERG alpha亚基Kv通道组装可能调节心脏延迟整流钾电流(IKr)的快速激活成分(PubMed:9230439)。 {ECO:0000269|PubMed:19219384, ECO:0000269|PubMed:20533308, ECO:0000269|PubMed:9230439, ECO:0000305}。

组织特异性

Expressed in lung, kidney, testis, ovaries, small intestine, peripheral blood leukocytes. Expressed in the heart (PubMed:19219384). Not detected in pancreas, spleen, prostate and colon. Restrictively localized in the apical membrane portion of epithelial cells.
