Expressed on neurons in the most rostral segment of the mammalian brain, the telencephalon. Brain specific expression (PubMed:9828136). Within the brain, only expressed in regions derived from the telencephalon (PubMed:9828136). Highly expressed in the hippocampus and cerebral cortex, followed by the amygdala, caudate nucleus, occipital pole, frontal lobe, temporal lobe, and putamen (PubMed:9828136). Lower expressed in the corpus callosum, subthalamic nucleus, and thalamus (PubMed:9828136).
