功能描述

糖原合酶与glycogenin和糖原分支酶共同参与糖原生物合成过程。通过向glycogenin形成的由少量葡萄糖单元组成的引物添加新的葡萄糖单元来延伸该引物。在此过程中，糖原合酶将糖基残基从UDP-Glc转移至alpha-1,4-葡聚糖的非还原端。 {ECO:0000269|PubMed:35835870}。
