催化O-连接寡糖生物合成中的起始反应,即将N-乙酰-D-半乳糖胺残基转移至protein受体上的丝氨酸或苏氨酸残基。对mucin衍生肽底物(如Muc2、Muc5AC、Muc7和Muc13 (-58))显示活性。可能参与肾脏中的O-糖基化。
