功能描述

对雄性生育力和精子线粒体鞘形成至关重要 (By similarity)。在线粒体鞘形成过程中，为线粒体沿鞭毛的正常延伸和卷曲所必需 (By similarity)。促进神经母细胞瘤细胞的生长和侵袭性 (PubMed:30026490)。以依赖RBBP4的方式增加EZH2活性和H3K27me3水平，并促进polycomb repressive complex 2和H3K27me3在基因启动子上的富集，导致肿瘤抑制因子的转录抑制，从而影响肿瘤细胞的增殖、侵袭和转移 (PubMed:30026490)。 {ECO:0000250|UniProtKB:Q80X86, ECO:0000269|PubMed:30026490}。

组织特异性

Expressed in testis (PubMed:33536340, PubMed:35534203). Highly expressed in the mid-piece of the elongated and late spermatids (PubMed:35534203). Expressed at higher levels in neuroblastoma tissues and cell lines, than those of normal dorsal ganglia (at protein level) (PubMed:30026490). Expressed in breast cancer, colon cancer, hepatocellular carcinoma, lung cancer, pancreas cancer, prostate cancer, renal cancer and gastric cancer, but not in their normal counterparts (PubMed:30026490).
