功能描述

负责核心组蛋白(H2A、H2B、H3和H4)N末端赖氨酸残基的去乙酰化。组蛋白去乙酰化为表观遗传抑制提供标签,并在转录调控、细胞周期进程和发育事件中发挥重要作用。组蛋白去乙酰化酶通过形成大的多蛋白复合物起作用。通过抑制肌细胞增强子MEF2C的转录参与肌肉成熟。在肌肉分化过程中,其穿梭进入细胞质,从而允许肌细胞增强子因子的表达。参与乳腺癌中MTA1介导的ESR1表达的表观遗传调控。作为RARA的辅阻遏物并导致其去乙酰化(PubMed:28167758)。与RARA结合,在microRNA-10a的抑制中发挥作用,从而参与炎症反应(PubMed:28167758)。 {ECO:0000269|PubMed:24413532, ECO:0000269|PubMed:28167758}。

Nucleus. Cytoplasm. Note=Shuttles between the nucleus and the cytoplasm. In muscle cells, it shuttles into the cytoplasm during myocyte differentiation. The export to cytoplasm depends on the interaction with a 14-3-3 chaperone protein and is due to its phosphorylation at Ser-259 and Ser-498 by AMPK, CaMK1 and SIK1.
